Subject: Amorphium Pro and Poser MT's

Hi, I read what traveler had to say about making Poser MT's with the new Amorpohium Pro demo, and I'd love to try it out, but I seem to have a problem: I can't figure out how to delete the sphere that automatically loads into Amorph. Pro! Yeah, yeah, laugh if you will... it's easy in the 'old" Amorphium, but this new interface is MUCH different. I'm sorry if this is OT, but can someone p-lease tell me how to clear the window of objects? Thanks! Mike The Dense

Go into the composer, select the sphere from the list, right click, and delete. The composer window now handles all of the movement, and object management. -Trav

Thank you, Traveler. :) Man-- I was trying everything I could think of! Strange thing is, with Vue d'Esprit, I'm doing the right-click thing all the time, but those reflexes don't seem to have carried over into Amorphium for some stupid reason. :/ Anyhow, I do appreciate it. As a side note, I've already decided I'll be buying this new Amorphium--- it's just too cool to pass up, and I'd bet that between it and Rhino, there'd be virtually no limit to what's possible, morph-wise. Cheers, Mike

You can also just go to 'preferences' and uncheck the sphere mesh box in the 'StartUp', that's what I did.

Thanks to you too, Eowyn. :) I've noticed that after exporting, Amorphium Pro creates a whole column of vt lines in the .OBJ file, but they all are arranged like this: vt 0.0000 0.0000 vt 0.0000 0.0000 vt 0.0000 0.0000 vt 0.0000 0.0000 ...and so on... So I guess since it's not there anymore, AP still wants to try to assign a value to the (non-existent?) vt lines... Any chance that could have something to do with the polygon problem?

Traveler ( ) posted Sun, 29 April 2001 at 11:01 AM

The polygon prolem lies in the V lines somewhere, because that is the only part of a morph target .obj file that Poser reads. I have been getting the black polys with every figure (including Vicky) that I have tried :( I am giving up for now. My head hurts too much from looking at .obj code ;) -Trav

Well, if YOU don't know, then how are the rest of us ever supposed to? ;) Actually, I was also wondering: could it be possible that only certain polys are getting flipped in the proces, while others are remaining the same? Stretched? Torn? Maybe the Amorphium people just don't like Poser! Perhaps they have their own view of what the Wavefront .OBJ format should have been! Relax, Traveler, even if you never get to the bottom of it, you still have given us all far more than would be humanly expected. (but I bet we figure you'll figure it out...) ;) One other thing, at my request, in case you're interested, they have created an Amorphium Forum here. I suspect it'll need a permanent mod, eventually. :)
