True - QT buries itself deep, as anyone who owns a license to a previous version and tries to upgrade, only to find out it's not incremental, can attest to (making their purchase invalid), but if it's a memory concern, it can be disabled through the command msconfig.exe. and eliminating it from the startup programs.
That could screw with the .mpg codec, though, so might not be a great solution.
I'm not sure either how good ATI is with graphics programs OGL, although I have heard that ATI is better suited for games than programs, for.whatever.reason. shrug
The PNY Nvidia GeForce FX 6600 (AGP) vid card I have is, literally, sitting on a shelf, never to be used again, and I bought it right before my old puter ded, just a few months ago. It's 256 MB VRAM , and plays Oblivion about 3/4 of the way to perfect. ;) I also have a Gainward GeForce 5700, which is great for graphics, but sucks for games. Also 256 Mb RAM
Also, I have some DDR400 (PC3200) RAM sticks sitting around - 3- 512MB modules,and 2- 256 MB modules.
You want any of this shit, just say so here or in a PM, 'cause it's not going to do to anything here but collect dust. Price: Free - cause I'm too much of a geek to let it lie around, doing nobody no good. ;-)
