Anybody besides myself listen to music released to the public as Open Source or via Creative Commons license? It's not just me, is it?

I find archive.org to be a good starting place. Their audio section is like sourceforge, but for .mp3 files. I'm sure there's a lot of other places like this. Any suggestions/links?

So far I'm liking the artists "Disco Biscuits" and "Coconut Monkeyrocket and Martinibomb". Sometimes it's just a matter of random browsing through the lists and you'll hit on somebody that can really jam. Then there's plenty of stuff that's just plain silly. Stuff that would fit in the Dr. Dimento lineup such as "Stark Effect". It makes for fun listening.

Also, has anyone released their own songs/albums as Open Source/Creative Commons?

hmm..worth looking into. Since the missus and my daughter only listen to Rap and Country (go figure...I can't..;), I feel like I'm missing out on some good stuff out there..;)

If I ever get my equipment back out of storage, maybe I can put some stuff there meself..;)

I run a small website for a friend who is both a singer/songwriter and artist. She has generously put a lot of free MP3 tracks on her site. If you like celtic folk guitar music it may interest you.  She lives a quiet life now, but at one stage had a regular TV show in Scoltand, and she founded a large music festival which is still running over there.
