I agree with you Papa Blue, new advances  in the software (Poser) and figures (Generation 4) are what keeps it interesting.  

I'm not even in the business but if I had the skills to do so, I'd create a new Generation of figures myself with high resolution meshes and superior rigging. Figures with surfaces that would more closely resemble human movement, with realistic muscle bulge, slide, skin compression reflecting the movement or bending of the figure. And also figures with even better morphing capabilities. 

Someone in the business is thinking about these things and you can bet we'll eventually see the results on that thinking in better new figures. Anton did it with the Apollo figure, someone will take the next step.
