Our soceity has gotten so corrupt with drugs, alchol that now days everyone thinks its hip or ok to use language our forefathers thought was not needed to carry on a conversation.

how do you think these words are passed down, some of them originated well before our forefthers time and our forefathers did indeed use them, if not thy would have become archaic terms. as for subistute words isn't every word the same, i could have re written everything you said and still said the same thing. s for the power of the word being with the reader. why is it some writers are good or mediochre and some are great. does it happen because the reader makes them great or because they write well and empower the words they write with insight and intent. isn't it the writer who makes the reader see the word in it's empowered state., what is the use of a word if another can be used you ask. my answer is language. to dissown part of a language make that language in some way redundant. how can we describe vile without vile words, how can we portray hate without hatefull words etc. even the f and c word have a part to play in our language.
