If you have tried to upload an image since then, and maybe changed your mind and just previewed it without actually saving it, it will just float around out there and will count as your one upload per day quota. When you upload, always save it when you are done, instead of trying to cancel the upload, or just previewing...that way you can go back and edit the image {iirc} if you decide you want something different up.
