Practically everything you do on this site generates requests to the Database. I don't see any smart solutions that are common practice in todays modern web applications (for example Ajax: Asynchronous JavaScript and XML).

The information architecture seems to be somewhat neglected - whatever task you wish to perform requries many clicks and reloads with new database requests each time.

I may be totally wrong but that's my guess. :)
