All I'll add is that it's not just Rendo that's suffering from the lack of community malaise. It's the entire internet. I'm chalking it up to the old addage that "Familiarity Breeds Contempt". Everyone seems to know everyone a little bit more than they care to and care a little bit less than they ought to about those they encounter.
