Thought this was the new Vicki map .. if so there is a good chance it comes in as a tif for the bump .. what you can do it turn the bump to none and then load them again. you might need to quit, that will purge it from memory and then load .. it will then convert it to a bump. Som of the smudging also looks to be a shadow map on the lights ..increase the thing from the default of map size 256 to something like 700 or more ...that should nuke most smudging
