No, the program won't choose Poser content over DAZ.  You just tell it where the Poser content is, and DAZ creates a directory in the content folder for you to be able to look in to find your Poser stuff.

The Poser stuff works in DAZ more or less the way it should.

I don't know if the wolf model is free in Poser 5, I know I got it free from somewhere, but I can't remember where.  Judging from where it is in my downloads, I think it came free with DAZ Studio.
