Subject: Anyone know how to actually get support for clothes converter?

3DMark ( ) posted Sun, 17 December 2006 at 3:59 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 4:32 AM

I went ahead and bought Clothes Converter 3 upgrade, however it seems it asks for user name and key. I have tried and tried to login and create a ticket for it at cgaution, however all it ever does is kick me back to relog on. Now i am patient, however, when does an upgrade require something they Don't send you in an email?

Frustrated, thanks for any help

I had a similar problem. Emailed him at his version 2 address and sent a copy to DAZ. Didn't hear back squat. So I emailed DAZ again and told them to just cancel the purchase.

I feel your frustration!

I got the first and second versions but I don't think I'll be buying into the new version. IMHO some of the new "features" should have been in the last version, like multiple runtime support, and I don't believe issue fixes liek this should be new versions.. this should be a point release to customers who've already bought into the utility twice already.

Look at other utility creators like Poseworks, and Philc... they take care of their regular customers quite well, while other utilites languish, or just try to suck in more money adding features that should have been available 2 years ago.

Not buying into it again this time.. sorry.

Well said, Gareee.

Well I am seriously considering removing the application and  getting my money back, my old ver 1.1 number was used in 2.0, and now with 3.0 it won't work, getting anywhere on the cgaction website is an exercise in maddening confusion, open ticket my {censored}, just geta loop to logback in every time

Gareee ( ) posted Sun, 17 December 2006 at 5:33 PM

I just get irratated by a lot of the utilites out there that are missing major features, or just don;t work as advertised.

Look at P-Wizard.. it also still does not work well at all with multiple runtime support, and it open on such a small axcreen, with a tiny non sizable file browser.

Using the packaging wizard with multiple runtimes is like beating your head against the wal.. it'll put all the files in properly in most cases, but all the actual references to texture or obj files is screwed up, so you end up having to edit them by hand anyway, file by file.

Probably the only "vintage" utility I can still live with it ajax's easypose underground. I emailed Ajax a few new feature requests for it, but so few people buy it anymore that further develpement is probably not going to happen, and Akax really sould get the support to develop and even more powerful version of EPU.

With the huge numbe rof new poser users coming into the poserverse, you'd think there would be more and better  utilities coming out. I can only think of a handful of utility developers making stuff.. Philc, Poseworks, hmm the list gets iffy right after that...LOL!

I could add a couple, Gareee- but you're right. Philc and Poseworks get my money just about every time. Quality people who make quality products.

If you bought Clothes Converter from DAZ, you should have had two e-mails:  the usual DAZ Order Confirmation and one headed "DAZ Serial Number Information", containing the key and the "name" (I missed the username at first, so I was a bit stumped for a moment when the installation rejected mine).   The installation was fine, when I entered the details from the e-mail.   If you didn't get that e-mail, I suspect that that would be the fault of DAZ.

I think Clothes Converter complements Wardrobe Wizard.   Not everything I try in WW works out, but there are aspects of it which make it more versatile than CC.      Even so, I have just happily used CC to convert clothing from V3 to V4 and it seems to have done the job well and quickly.   I do agree with the comments above in praise of PhilC's customer support, which is the benchmark.

Yes I bought it at Daz, no no second email about serial number was the upgrade version, and fired off a support question email, plus posted on their forum, which was answered quickly with the bit about old username and serial number, which i had tried to no avail, I'll give it 24 hours then might just cancel the order, i don't need this aggrivation

Buyer Beware!!

Still no response from Daz or from the vendor's website, Maybe the Clothe's Converter 3 Upgrade is Not For the Upgrade 2.0 from 1.1, I dunno, giving them one more day and will cancel the order, my Poser 7 has come in and i am sure it will present difficulties and i can worry about vender's who give no support for their software, nor answers to a simple question. Your logical question is why try to buy it at all? Well it said it had support for V4, and money is tight, most of my dollars have been spent all year on Aiko, V3, The Girl, and like wise, I'll just buy what V4 items i can or not. If Clothes Convertor 3 Upgrade Requires the Clothe's Converter 2 and will not work on the Clothe's Converter 2 Upgrade, then Buyer Beware! DAZ Please Clarify that the Full Version of Clothe's Converter 2 is required to buy this Product, I can understand no answer from DAZ, they may not even know about it despite sending two emails via their support page.

I'm a bit surprised that I haven't yet heard back from DAZ either. Their support has always been top notch in the past, in my experience.

I agree, so I know they are at a loss, and the most likely reasonis CC3 will not accept the ver1.1, and upgrade 2.1 ver username and key. I don't care, i can use the money to buy V4 a nice set of bloomers.

I bought 2.0 and the 3.0 upgrade both from DAZ.  On the DAZ website there is a link under your account with registered serial numbers.  I just used the 2.0 serial # for the 3.0 upgrade and it worked perfectly fine for me.  No problems here.

BTW, relatively quick output from CC 3.0 autoconvert between V3 and V4 with the FireDancer outfit, here.  It's not perfect, but it works as a good starting point.
