    There is one other option, but it requires a change of software.  Cinema 4D seems to have had some success in the import of pozer data.  There is a plugin for C4D called Riptide and that seems to do a very good job on import.  I have never used it so I have no 1st hand experience.  But you can ask in the C4D forum and see how well it works.

I know you use max, but if you want to continue to use pozer, yopu may have to change apps.
