In the 93.71 release notes it states:
" There maybe intermittent compatibility issues with dual core CPUs.
If you experience this issue, first make sure you have downloaded
and installed the dual core patched from your CPU manufacturer
and from Microsoft. The Microsoft knowledge base article can be
found here LINK.
If you still experience problems you can attempt to work around these
by toggling off nVidia's multi-thread optimizations using the following
instructions LINK (see page 19 on the pdf)"
I don't know if I want to go in and start playing with REGEDIT and turning things off. I don't know how poser will run if you turn off the multi-thread optimizations on the video card. Plus, what is the use of having a dual core machine if you have to turn the multithreading off on the video card? I have, however, downloaded the patch from Microsoft because I am running WINXP/SP2. Most of the users I've seen on other forums with the transparency issues have stepped down to a 8x.xx series driver. I really don't know if I want to do that either.
Everything else is running dandy with my present video driver with the exception of wings and the random crash to desktop in poser 7. P6 and all my other graphics programs are fine. So either EF has to find the fix or nVidia does.
