...having said that :), in my mind, I 'know' for example that movements of the vertex marked O/M in my example above should not affect vertex F, but what I'm still fuzzy on would be the algorythm used to make that so by giving it a 0.0 weight, while the vertices above E and G ended up with a 0.5 weight.

Of course I'm just using this as a specific example (and a special-case example, which has some 'known' properties), so what I'm really talking about is the weight determining process in general (that, as I said, I'm fuzzy on).
