Hehe.  It's all good.  As an acedemic excersize, it worked out well - you learned something new 😄.

Those "translate to center, rotate/scale, then translate back" operations are usually handled by concatinated matrix multiplications in 3D software.... you can build one matrix that does all those operations with a single matrix multiplication.  It's interesing stuff, but more complicated than needed for this application.
