It was amusing to watch folks squirm over the notion that using Poser makes you a pervert. It's a bit like having to admit you masturbate, I suppose. This first time is a bit embarrassing.
The "Poser is for perverts" thread got subtly derailed by the idea that using Poser means you are a pervert. The two things are quite different. An open-minded adult shop might sell a device whose primary function is to facilitate rendering women helpless so you can ram sharp objects into them. (I believe a virtual device of that sort is available at the less hypocritical cousin site.) If you buy one to display on your mantle or use as a paperweight, that doesn't make you a person who actually likes to think about doing that or ever, ever really would. No way. Really.
Poser is "for" perverts in the sense, as eF has now clarified, that it is, unlike other 3D programs, designed specifically to make the production of "adult" (that wonderfully ironic word) content easier. As I suggested in that thread, count the polys on Syd's perineum and tell me why it's so important, artistically, that your model have fully extendable labia minora. Then we'll talk about how porn's connection to Poser is just a coincidence.
Poser is now officially a tool for creating 3D porn. And like most porn, it has a slick surface beneath which is clunky crap. Poser 7 is full of bugs? Who cares, man, Sydney has a asshole!!
