The particular Doctor Who episodes are a two-parter from 2005, The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances. Picked up a Hugo Award. The gas mask in that isn't a close copy of any of the WW2 civilian masks, but there are plenty of pictures on the web. Technically, the only all-british satellite launch was by steam engine. Hydrogen peroxide decomposes to steam and oxygen.
