Nowadays you should always check stuff that sounds too good or too wierd to be real against something like Snopes.com for any urban legends running around. Like Coke being used to degrease engines and the like. Or watch a lot of mythbusters. A very relevant show for this day and age of data pollution.
I can just imagine, in the future, we'll have to cybernetically implant "factcheckers" to run data through and catch falsehoods before we get too suckered in. There are things about the information age that really suck.
