The minnie ball impregnation was on Snopes as well as that other site I noted.  I do check just about every ol' thing I'm told these days.

If I haven't done the medical, legal, or historical research myself, such that when I'm told something I know it to be true based on that research, I do it as soon as I get the chance.

I find that most of what I am told, in good faith mind you ... no one is intentially lying to me .... is just plain wrong.  But, that's the way of information ... once something is "out there" most people take it as gospel truth, and pass it on that way.

That's what killed Paul McCartney back in the early 70s.
