I think it's good that the standards are now the same for the Marketplace and the galleries.
This was often a subject of complaint.
I'm sure folks can use a little creative cropping to create a thumbnail.

Has my 100% support a very sensible change !
And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies
live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to
sea in a Sieve.

While I agree with the rules ... I'm a bit upset here,,, As I have never put up something with a nude thumbnail!!! But alas, one of my latest was removed in a holding pattern today. I don't get it, I used Renderositys thumbnail, not mine (just like yesterdays post "Sleeping Angel") Tis art .. , not unlike todays post. So exactly what am I missing here? Does this mean R'R no longer has content advisory Avatars, or does this mean the system to sort the bad ones is a bit buggy. I had many popular and active members comment on Princess Lair, and none saw a nude Thumb.
Cheers,
Kurt
Wonderful rule change, Bravo! I just read the article and I'm so depressed, LOL. No doubt I've led a sheltered life, but what the heck, I don't think it's been that bad and I would like to shelter my children too. It's gonna be nice to be able to view the thumbs of the entire gallery and have the freedom to choose what I want to look at without being forced to view (what I might consider) objectionable "art".
Thank you very much!

kurtsart: You could read the new rules, and they warn not to use the automatic thumbnail maker, but make one by yourself........hope you understand, we don't want to make people upset......maybe it confused some members....but they can always ask for some extra info....

I totally agree with you, however, my situation was unique.
Actually when you check an advisory, the system automatically over rides the automatic thumbnail marker with the content advisory marker. That was my point, I did not have a nude thumb, I had an advisory marker. The error was on Renderosities side, and they have since corrected this, including putting my image back up.I think there should be additional info on how the automated thumb marker is over ridden by a profile setting and the advisory check box.
The point is, you do not have to make your own thumb if you have your settings correct, and you use the Content Advisory Check Box/ Drop down menu.

@kurtsart; Don't feel too bad...consider yourself in very good company. Renderosity just got caught in it's own web...and had to delete Leonardo da Vinci's "Man of Vitruvio" from the front page of this site...In youth, we learn....with age, we understand.
Kurt, that would only work if EVERYONE has their preferences set to not show nudity.
