Can someone please help,I have purchased a merchant resource pac for V4 from a vendor/artist here and have some issues I wanted cleared up before distributing my finished character.I have brought many items from this vendor but will NEVER Be doing so agin.I will be passing this information on to my friends so they can decide whether they want to or NOT .
Would it be to much to ask to reply to this IM I sent back on 8th Jan..

Sorry to intrude with this message but I just wanted to clear up something ,I want to be clear on since purchasing your resource for V4.

I used your base for the body mainly and some of the face, pupils etc.

I have changed colour on what Is still visable from your pac.

Im not sure on what I can do when giving this character away in regards to copywrite.

I dont think there is an issue but dont want to be heckled as a cheat or anything lol.

If you want a look at the texures I could email them to you or I have uploaded a wip render.

Sorry to bother you,I havent made anything before and wanted to give some friends here a free character using your base.Is it o'k ~the licence confused me.

Thanks for any of your time on this,

Best wishes

So I get no response ~how rude!!!
After all the money Ive spent in HER store! Thanks alot!!!
Whats the point in a resource pac if you cant use it without breaking some law?
Alls I asked for was some clarification on what I can do with it.
Shouldnt the artist show some manners here?
Maybe Im not very well educated in the merchant resource world but thats no reason to NOT reply is it?
SO whats the point of merchant resources?
Any help please, link to store Mods or what steps,
I'd rather give all my products back to this VENDOR !
My feedback will follow on all the products Ive purchased unless I get a message !

Thanks for any help

I got myself some resources ..and with ALL the resources i got it says Not for making FREEBEE's ... and ik think thats normal..
Why.. well simple when you make a character with it and give it away the "source" in the freebee  can be use without the copyright restricktions on them.
So anybody has a FREE acces to the maps/textures.
While with selling the copyrights stay the way they are...
And about the merchant not repleying .. Im in search for a friend here at R'O and outside R'O
That have not repleyed to me for a month now.. and i think its because of the snow storms in the US..that keeping him from using the Internet..
What you can do is check the name of the vendor for message's here ..when there are no messages repley no nothing from him/her maybe its a good thing to wait a bit more...

Thanks Chris,I will wait (before getting angry lol) but am dissapointed.
I do understand about the giving of the unaltered maps away would be a problem but they are far from there original state now.Thats why I wanted to email over the textures for the vendor to approve.I am trying to protect the vendor here but am being slapped .

With the weather issues I will stall my temper and will see if the so called has been active online , She seemed to of recieved my IM fine by the way..

I'll try to give you an example ..
When mechant X made a great map for V4 ..and sell it..
When he thinks some one ripped him off he can bring up the copy rights that where on the package...
But when a Freebee made with the map come online ..and the maker finds some one who is selling a character with his map as a base .. he has nothing to stand on ..
The 2nd vendor can say simply i use the freebee version as a base ...
So by letting people use his base for freebee's he lose the possiblity to hold the copyrights when that "free" version is use as a base...
So its not about YOU using it for the freebee for friends ..i about others using you "read His base" freebee as a base for a selling product...

I realy hope you understand now what i mean .. My English is not that good..

Barcode, copyright isn't lost just because somebody does that.  Whatever reasons people have for restricting use of their products in freebies, it doesn't involve copyright, which always remains with the original creator (assuming it isn't `work for hire').

Thanks for all the replys everyone. Its seems as though the Vendor will not give me a simple answer, instead of all this politics I am going to throw the resorce pac and all other products by this vendor in the bin.

I know how to create my own textures now so stuff  it.

I was mainly using the base for seems.

Im hoping still for a message from this vendor ,

I will issue a complaint to the MP next week .

In the real world a trader cannot act this way and Im dissapointed that a person can take your money here and act like that .

Am I jumping the gun?Well the Vendor has read my IM and put several other products up for sale in the weeks Ive been waitng for an answer.Just keep taking the CASH Vender, thanks alot!

Um... just because they don't answer a message, doesn't mean it's anything personal.

I was away from the community for two years, and when I logged in here, I saw there was a question from a potential customer that had been here since last June.  I never received a notification about it in my email.  I feel badly that that person thinks I ignored them, but there's not much I can do about it now.

Has it occurred to you that maybe Renderosity's BOT just failed to let the merchant know you've sent them a query?

Re.. ( Has it occurred to you )

" YES " !

Many scenario's have 'occurred' to me before the thread was started ! Im not assuming a personal issue, how could that be ?
Im not the only person to IM the (active) vendor on this matter.
Im only a paying customer wanting to keep the Vendor protected as the readme files just state merchant friendly .
My position was unclear on the 'giving' or 'selling'.
Such a big deal huh.

Thankyou for that help.

As my last thread states ,
This thread  is completed as I cant be bothered with it.
Just puts me off buying from so called Vendors.

I've deleted the gallery image showing my character and how she was created.

Will start from scratch.

Special thanks for all the hours 'wasted' .
