Most of the stuff done at this site was with Carrara 3. The movie short to which you are directed by the thread was done in Carrara5Pro I think it says.
Why would you need Animation Master?-(-Which does not seem an allround app thus you are adding a lot of money for little I would feel.)
Its worth going around all the stuff on the carrara3d site--very inspirational.
