a blank canvas or blank image, if posted in an actual art gallery (in a physical building, on an actual wall in an actual room) would be referred to as "minimalist art". anything created by an human can be called "art", and it doesn't harm us in any way to refer to these things as such. unfortunately, the "minimalist school" is sometimes described as reactionary (or other negative terms), similar to the way "dadaism" was considered in an earlier era. hence, if one's only desire is to provoke a negative reaction from the typical viewer, minimalism is a good way to do it. yet in my perusal of the gallery here, the typical image poster is hoping for a positive reaction, e.g. congratulatory messages and praise, regardless of the relative merits of the image.
