@ Argon:
*It's that lag time on when it's called to someones attention, depending on who's on duty it could be a lot longer
Well, we're spread out all over the world ~LOL~..but there is usually someone online at all times, and if not, then someone comes online shortly. The way it works is that a mod or coord either gets a report about an image for whatever reason, or they come across it themselves, and they deal with that member, sometimes several members at one time..then there is the wait on the member to respond, so that also takes some time..it can take quite awhile thats true...
***They didn't use the options they had to avoid the problem they just took away options on what thumbnails could be used, what images could be auto-generated and how you could edit them.
*Actually, all the same options are there..the only thing that changed is what is allowed in the thumb. Some of the problems that I personally saw with the thumbs being auto generated, was sometimes a member would either forget to click the nudity tag, or I also saw {and experienced it myself} the content advisory tag getting changed accidentally by using a scroll wheel upon upload. {this latter I haven't see often, but I have seen it, and its happened to me once or twice}
When that happened, the thumb was auto generated with the nudity showing in the thumb..the way it is now, we dont really have that as a major worry..altho the images still have to be tagged.
***So the only other option is to give up doing images with nudity in them. There certainly seems to be more and more strong motivations to do so, that way you can bypass the limits on them and avoid any extra lag time.
@Uni:
** ***If you upload a thumb with nudity in it, you get your image put in a holding space and a message about why. Do you also get a note put on your "record"?
***** ***Second question. If the thumb that has nudity came about because of the same situation unitychild had, do you still get that note on your record and, if so, will it state that it was the site's thumb generator that did it and not the person uploading?
*****Right now we are in the education phase of the new policy, so when you get a note requesting a replacement thumb, the only thing that goes on record is that a replacement was requested.
Mods and Coords review everything as a team, so if it turns out that a member did what they were supposed to do by uploading a non-nude thumb, and for whatever reason the system takes it over {like its too big} then the mods/coords will see the new thumb, and if its a full on image again, we would assume that the system generated it, and will communicate this to the member and in the review thread so everyone is on the same page.
The only time a warning would go out, is if the team began to see a repeated pattern of nude thumbs being uploaded by a member, and have been repeatedly requested to not upload them. ;)
The thumb limits are: 100 x 100 minimum and 200 x 200 maximum and no more than 15 kb {that 15 kb is the clincher sometimes}
If you are having problems getting thumbs to upload, just give one of us a yell and we'll get it working for ya, even if we need to upload it ourselves from this side ;)
