At work, a manager will take you aside (if they are a respectable manager - this is what they're supposed to do) to tell you not to do something, or that there is a problem with your performance - there are corrections to be made, or to just plain chew you out. In private.
What you as a responsible worker are NOT supposed to do is walk right over to the water cooler at the busiest time and shout (so that everyone can hear) about what was just exchanged between you and said manager.
You just might get fired...
