Render benchmark numbers don't really bear that out.

AMD only gets competitive with the Intel chips when you buy a pair of them, and a two-socket board to put them in. Price for that config ends up more than the most expensive Intel config (although price will vary over time). Filter out the gaming and general "system performance" benchmarks, they have nothing to do with how machines act with a multithreaded renderer like Vue or now, Poser 7.
