The battery and light .... I like that idea a lot.  Maybe even better than candles - which someone else suggested.  I wouldn't want the mousies to burn the house down.

Oh, and yes .... the pipe leaks which gives the mice the "running" water for their sink ... which used to be an Altoids tin.
