Thanks Matt....using IE 6....
Yeah I know I could do that....but don't really want to have to change it all the time....a pain.
Trouble here is that if I want to reply to a thread where I've already seen all the pics....I don't want to have to wait till they load.
Obviously Rendo has it set to load the images first before the text box....just wondering if they could do it the other way around....
Noticing the same on most sites....the ads load first....while you wait for the things you really want to see....that's OK for folks on high speed but becoming a real pain for us dial - up folks.

To sort out the ad problem you are having download firefox and use that, you can install add-ons to the web browser for things like that. Adblock and Filterset.G, the first blocks adverts or any image you dont want displayed and the second is a list of URLs of adverts used on the internet which works with Adblock to block pretty much 100% of all banner ads on a website. Also you can download another add-on called "Fasterfox" which basically "tweaks" the way in which your bandwidth is being used to load a webpage, so your browsing is faster. I notice the difference considerably when using Firefox and then IE7, and i will never go back to IE now... only for instances where the web designer didnt test something to work in Firefox will i use IE.
Also i'm not sure but i think with adblock you can block individual images, so that the next time you go onto a thread it wont load them...

Yep, pretty soon we'll all be forced to upgrade to high-speed. I'm just glad I have it here at work.

gradient: Would you be willing to run a small script from your Quick Launch bar (next to the Start menu) that would toggle your browser images on and off?
I messed around with this last night and made a working mini-program that would automate the keystrokes and mouse clicks to toggle browser images on and off. I use Firefox v2.0.0.1, so that is what I made the script for. I'll see if I can get one working for IE6 tonight after work. Stay tuned...
Edit: The script mentioned above will toggle the "Load images automatically" option. After toggling that option you would have to reload/refresh your browser page for it to take effect. If will not display or hide images on a web page that has already been loaded and is being displayed. If anyone else wants to try it out, let me know.

OK, I made a few changes and got the script working for IE6. There are a couple of ways to get this script working on your computer:
IE6 will need to be running and be the active window at the time you launch the script, so I suggest you place a shortcut to the script (either the AHK or EXE file) on the Quick Launch bar so you won't have to minimize IE6 to get to the script icon (if it's on your desktop). When the script is launched, the following occurs:
All of that happens in less than a second, so it's pretty fast. The firefox version works the same way but with a few less mouse clicks.
The only problem that I can see with these scripts are that they expect the buttons on your IE dialog boxes to be in the exact same places as they are on mine (because I positioned the mouse "clicks" using X/Y coordinates). If for some reason your buttons are in a different place, because of a different version of IE, different size font, different size window title bar, etc, then the script might not work as planned. It will be easy to straighten it out though.
Anyway, if you want to try it out let me know and I can send you the script(s). I don't think Renderosity will let me attach an EXE file so email will probably be best.

Thanks Matt....Wow...thanks for your work on this!!!
I am heading over to AHK now to see what exactly it is, how easy it is to install...and de-install, if need be...
I'll IM you later this weekend to let you know if I am comfortable enough to install this.

Unfortunately, I'm on dial-up....can't get high speed where I live. So, when I open a thread that has 47 images in it, I have to wait until ALL images are loaded before the text edit box loads. If I hit stop in my browser to stop loading the pics...the text editor never loads.
My question is this...Is there any way to enable the text editor so that I can make a reply without having to wait until all the images load?
BTW, the same thing happens when I go to someone's gallery.....I have to wait for the thumbs of ALL their favorite images to load before I can acces the box to IM them.....
