Also there are post production ways too. Such as with PS,PSP,Painter, Gimp. There is a thread at Daz common bout a product or 2 that can do this as PS filters. Now I'm tring to remember. I think there are some very popular PS actions in the RMP. Might need to look in the 2D sections.
