Subject: GRIM by Sanctum Art - VUE help please

Warangel ( ) posted Thu, 22 February 2007 at 7:32 PM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 9:09 PM

Just got the GRIM package by Sanctum Art. I am very pleased with the continuing quality of their products.

Sadly, I think because of the sheer detail of their work, I am unable to import it into VUE 6 Infinite. Specifically, the torso armour and the belt and pistols. Causes a crash whether I bring them in individually or together. I CAN export them as OBJ and they import ok, but I am having trouble with scaling, positioning etc.

I spoke with Sanctum Art, who are looking into it for me, as I am the only one with this type of issue with the product. Granted, they don't support VUE, but were very helpful.

My hope is that someone else who uses GRIM in VUE will see this post and be able to offer assistance. Thank you.

Not much help but I can import an obj file of The USS Consitutaion into Vue 6 final but can not import it as a pz3.  I get low on resourses errors and then crash.
I think new final has still got resourse problems kind like the last update for the prerelease. :)
Sitting back and waiting to see what others are going to say when they use Vue 6 Final for a few.

Actually, I am still using the pre-release. Haven't bothered to download the final yet. And it only seems to do it with this model. I have more complex scenes, with more models, etc. Just this one that does it.

I had a similar problem with X2000 Darcassian, mimic version. That in import the head (in my case) simply was missing. This was fixed in the final release - so maybe it is worth updating!

One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.

The new freebie, Anarane, from DAZ crashes mine on import too.

I looked in the PZ3 file, but nothing stood out as offending.

I can import the pieces as OBJ, yes, but then have problems with positioning, plus, if I want to animate, it presents problems for me. Haven't heard anything back yet from Sanctumart. My guess is no fix for it.
