I use a basic card reader to bring up the images list in "my computer", copy and save to a temp image file in documents. Then to take a quick look at jpg I simply open with one of the Windows viewers, decide what really needs deletion and note that. For raw, I open the temp image file in RawShooter and take a quick look and maybe do a few corrrections, saved where I want it along with the original.
Final work is done in Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro saved with the originals in the suitable document file. For many images, I make a folder and save "unedited" and software processed in separate subfolders. *No special software is used to upload from the camera card, just the card reader.
I have discovered too many "temp" image folders..I forget to go back and empty those or to simply cut and paste to a permanent folder. : )
