Right what got me to use hexagon was in poser 6 last year import some 3d objects would not import properly, though could weld them in vue.
I found some stuff had be loaded in max then exported again as im not a modler still cant get hang of max, now with carrera have modified some 3ds stuff but i find hex bloody brill.
I paid $45 for a pacific native cannoe and have used basic principles in hexagon to modify various ways, and im not a modler.
Hexagon is very underated as most peeps oh yas must have this or that 3d modeling program to do this and that, so i took some poser figures and using hexagon made what i wanted and textured with basic, basic modeling techs and saved, put them on a key and at friends shop gave paperboy to give his brother.
He took to his 3 mates into big modeling programs and showed em what i had done, they said which of main prorams he used, they were told hexagon and 1 spit his beer out as they could not believe hexagon could have done these.
Hexagon is bloody brill for editing 3ds stuff as to many people dont engage thier brains by saying hold on will this program do stuff that it cant do, so im not a person can make 3d models as talents lie else where.
But even with carra being used as well hexagon is a bloody life saver for me as the editing i can do in it work's a treat.
People can slag of hexagon but as those 3 students found out it is very underated.
I been luky not only in the jobs i  done but at home if somit needs fixing ill come up with a fix, that does the job that people wont think off, just like my old joystic for St and Amega whie people kept buiyng thier new $4.00 or £2.00 joystic mine kept working.
after while in freinds computer shop john said i bought 5 or those bloody joystics in 2 years how come you on same one, simple i said look and inside bubblegum and a paper clip used inside keep it working.
Just like when telly had be fixed 1 the repairemen like me did stuff ya not supposed do or could between us we came up with cutting a wire coat hanger, and drilling some holes in cuircit board and some other stuff that would make a tv manufacturer have a heart atack.
We wired board up then soldered conections and for 5 years coat hanger and solder kept telly working.
So when you uae a program think about what other thing's you can use it for and not for what it supposed do.
It is a supperb program.

I bought that at Daz last year when it was on sale really cheap.  I never installed it though.  Now that I have a good computer I plan on installing it and trying it out too.

Yeah, I got it too. I installed it but never use it.  I also have 3dsMax, Rhino,Lightwave and wings, so I really didn't need another modeler but the $1.99 price was impossible to say no to.
