What? Am I asking too many questions??? You are not going to tell me no one has done this? Holy mackerel LOL!!
No beryld I haven't either I was only wondering if anyone has seen any changes with SR1. I'm afraid I too am in the same boat as you I don't know if I trust it. I just sworn I had read a thread regarding it. So I'll shut me gob now.
I see, your looking for answers too. I thought you were teasing us. LOL. Nothing here but us chickens. I have not read anything about it. But I sure have seen a lot of bad press.
*"Wow- I just noticed your icon. Dare I say "go Ducks"???"
*Yes you can but thems fighting words were I come from. I hate to say, also have a very good chance at the cup. A least they droped the Mighty off of thier name. Not so Disney now. LOL.
Heck I'll try it, you don't really have anything to lose if you start from a new scene except that scene file.
Here is something even more stupid...LOL...just what the heck did the Use Binary Morph targets do in the first place? blush
You use it to make a morph target independent of the figure, e.g. so you can copy it to another figure, or load a morph target that you created in an external modeling app. I'm pretty noob at that though.
Well, after several hours fiddling with a V4 extensively morphed with the builtin morphs, morph brush, and morphforms, I did get an error ("may be insufficient memory to save the morph target") but the file didn't get corrupted like before. The problem before was pretty sporadic though, so I wouldn't call it safe yet.

It was also intended to keep pz3 and cr2 file sizes down, mostly as a way to help people save hard drive space.
Although, with the lowering cost of large hard drives, there isn't as much of a need for it, the implementation seemed too problematic and out-dated to me.

If you're joking that's just cruel, but if you're being sarcastic, that's even worse.

Touching base on this again - I have had Use External Morph Targets on for the past couple of days, with mutliple figures in the same scene (last trial was I believe seven figures including clothing and hair and whatnot), much morphing with morph tool, magnets, and builtin morphs/morphforms, and have not had any issues. The one time I encountered an error was on Save on Exit, when closing Poser with an un-saved document open. I think I'm going to go ahead and leave it on from now on (much faster save times).
Another followup: After several days of working with the new patch with Binary External Morph Targets enabled, I haven't had any issues at all. This appears to be fixed, and file saving is tremendously faster and file sizes are much, much smaller.
Okay, when this render finishes (at this rate it looks like 3-4 hours, it is down to the all-reflection stuff). I don't suppose it will work all that well going into Vue 6i as I think the importer is text-only but I'll give it a try.

edit: oops, well, some obvious issues (figure isn't posed quite the same as she is in the Poser scene). I guess that's fixable with re-posing inside Vue...
Well, I went and checked the box for using the binary morph targets a few days ago and I see nor have experienced any adverse effects using them. I have been able to open many different .PZ3 files and render them multiple times without mishap...damn I miss Hap...eh sorry some humor there I mean people do have some sense of humor in this forum don't they? Ha! off topic again....anyway I haven't had any problems thus far.
