Practical Poser 6 (and 7, now) are not written by e-frontier, and cover lots of ground not covered in the manual. When Denise was writing the first book, she came online here and at other forums (fora?) to find out what people would like to see in such a book.

Poser (x) revealed, on the other hand, is e frontier's official side book to go with their software, and covers a lot of the same ground as the manual. The difference is that Secrets 6 wasn't based on a manual from two versions ago, and so is actually mostly pertinent (from what I've heard).
