That isn't really a surprise when you look at the cost of upgrading - the problem is if you are running XP Pro you are limited in which versions of Vista you can install and actually do an inplace upgrade - otherwise its a matter of reinstalling all those little time consuming things like photoshop plugins etc..
So from my point of view I can only upgrade to either Business or Ultimate and with Ultimate sitting at around $AUD500+ - at that sort of money I'm a good part of the way towards a new system.
It just seems as though M$ has priced themselves out of the upgrade market
