Mate, if you get an optical mouse make sure you get one that plugs into the USB, i got an optical mouse that doesn't plug into the computer and the only problem i have with it is the cost of batteries...2 AA batteries ever 2-3 weeks depending on what i do on the computer, 3d work chews up the batteries quick.

Mind you i like the idea of having 3 buttons plus the scroll wheel on it.
