Holy crap, that season finale was a frakkin' religious experience! What's up with the Jimi Hendrix song everybody was hearing?
I didn't mind the stand-alone episodes this season. The writers have proved time and time again that there's some serious repercussions behind every twist the show makes.
According to Nielson's, BSG's ratings dipped by 5 percent this season, after the new time slot. According to AFI's cable/satellite/DVR stats the show's ratings are through the roof which would explain why the DVD sales are so strong.
The best thing about BSG is that it's honest storytelling. Nobody's chasing the ratings, the show never plays it safe, and never takes the easy way out. I'd like to see Heroes or Lost take some chances; they both feel seriously watered down for the lowest common denominator.
Anyway, BSG returns in January with 22 new episodes. If you can't wait, a special BSG movie will air on SciFi and be released on DVD this fall. The movie is set on the Pegasus and takes place right before the Cylon attack on the colonies.
So say we all!
