I can remember people's ill-fated attempts to weld the low poly facegen head onto the V3 body, so painful as the customizer process sounds, it sounds like a huge step forward.  Using it in conjunction with lightwave is good too. I suspect there's certain details that customizer or the facegen dials won't be able to capture and you'll have to use lightwave's magnet tool.   Here's a Scarlett profile by the way, I was going to do a version of her a while back.
