I've bought from these places in the UK recently and found...
PC World - online prices OKish. In store average high street - staff friendly but very often untrained.
Woolworths - Argos & Tesco - prices are OK, staff really nice and helpfull and openly honest they have no technical skills. Very quick and happy to refund if theres any problems.
Dell is OK - bit more expensive particulary RAM upgrades - but they've often helped with problems outside the waranty.
Misco is a good choice - nice and cheap, 3 day delivery is a fiver but they often deliver next day and don't debit your card until dispatch. Good customer service, and they also take Paypal.
Pixmana - very good prices if you can accept really bad customer services Part of the group that owns Dixons and PC world so not surprising.
Novatech.co.uk - a local box shifter - very good prices - support very knowledgable but not keen on accepting returns unless they have too.
