*My bad. I gave you the wrong name! Ack! :-P The file should be saved as tdmtSpanki.py, exactly as the file it replaces. Sounds like you figured that out.
You would be able to split off parts of the mesh and combine the resulting datafiles, as long as vertex numbering remains the same. Somehow that doesn't seem likely. If the vertex numbering changes, you'd need to correct the tdmt correlation datafiles to reflect the vertex order of the original meshes, rather than the split ones. This could be done, hypothetically. I don't have a tool for it, offhand.
What meshes are you working with? It sounds like this somehow reveals the limits of the script. I'm puzzled and a bit worried....
