Subject: Invisible HIP in Poser 4 and 3 figures

Drai ( ) posted Mon, 14 May 2001 at 7:54 PM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 6:49 PM

I recently did a scene and noticed that each and every Poser 4 or 3 figure I brought in, didn't have a hip. I checked the properties and the visibility option was checked. Closed Poser, tried again--same thing. Rebooted PC ( WIN2K ), tried again--still the same. Anyone have any ideas? I also have the Pro Pack installed and it's the same in the setup room.

I've heard of people having this problem before, but I haven't run across it myself. You may want to search the archives of this forum, or you may want to just download the new Pro Pack patch released last night and see if they fixed it.

Hope you get this worked out.

Here is the fix posted By Keith a while back: "Under the Geometries/Poser4Figures directory create a directory called P4NudeMphMan Copy the b1HipNoGen.obj file from the P4NudeMale Remember copy the file do not move it This will fix the non appearing hips Thanks Keith Ahlstrom"

Ok, I got the same reply from Curious Labs that you gave me Scott, and that worked fine. Now, I have a new problem--I modified a new character using the EVE V3 figure and now all I get is the hip--but no body! I tried the fix in reverse using the P4NudeWoman and Eve objs but that didn't work either! I beginning to really get frustrated with Poser now!

Did you download the ProPack patch yet? That might get rid of a lot of these problems. ScottA

I downloaded and installed the patch, however I discovered that the new character's OBZ file was missing from the libraries folder. Fortunately I had a backup copy of the OBZ file and replaced it in the character's folder. This brought the figure back in the scene in all of her visibility! So far, all looks well in PoserLand again! I wanted to say thanks on helping me out on this and much appreciation!!
