thanks for all your wonderful comments. i was actually inspecting several sites around Santa Monica that i did the civil engineering on and had initiated underground stormwater storage systems. i was taking the pictures of the sites for a proposal to show that the systems have been functioning without incident for almost a decade, and the flowers happen to blooming are near and on some of the sites.
