One other thing to consider. Quite a few clothing props can be textured using material room procedural shaders, without bothering with templates. The attached images show a couple treatments I did with the M3 Casablanca Suit (look in free stuff). (Click to zoom in and see the detail).

The tie, buttons, and jacket were all done with procedures - no images were used.

I have a Python script that can generate quite complex and realistic woven materials like these.

Let me know if you want to learn more about this technique. However, it is not for the fainthearted! You have to be willing to do advanced work in the material room.
