Richard, I went through the same sort of thing in 1983. Things were much worse. This set me back to almost starting again in having any sort of savings for the future. Likely, since the crooks were not caught and from what was taken that belonged to others and had only been in my home from the night before...the one who brought the stuff to my home and took other goods was behind the burgle.
It took a while to get used to the idea of "home violation". I would come home from work and wonder what I would find. This was traumatic and took time to work away from active thought. I do pray you can leave and come home and feel at ease right away.
At the time, I did not have cameras around and things like that. They took other things and it cost a pretty penny even after insurance covered a small percentage of the losses.
A sorry thing indeed that this should happen to you. A sorry thing that some people use these methods to gain income..what ever that might be.
