I know there might not be a big base for this but it might be nice to have a forum for PMG Messiah. Even if it is lumped in with another program forum. Ex. Lightwave because of its roots or animation master because it is the program a lot of users are switching to.

Do you know if this software can import D|S characters (like V4 or A3)? Will I be able to use all them props and objects I've collected for poser and D|S?

I would love to know more about this software from the user base, especially the new users.

I’ve just recently decided to put my big toe into the animation waters because I want to try something a little more than still images.

Any information ya got would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well Messiah is more oriented tword those who create their own content. You could import a poser of Daz figure by obj but you willhave to do an entire rig for it it does not integrate into those programs like Carrera or Shade and a few others. They would be like any other model. If you do make yoru own characters in a modeler rigging them up in messiah is much faster than poser. DS does not even allow you to rig your own characters.

Any model you have that can be exported as an OBJ can be imported into Messiah. That said Messiah is a bit picky  about geometry no N gons. Messiah can do smoothing also so you can do rough characters and then smooth them later.

It is not a poser alternative. A lot of the new users are formerly Animation master users or from Lightwave or C4D which it can plug into.

Thanks alot for the information. Reading various things about A:M is what lead me to the Messiah site.

Is there a Messiah forum i can sign up at?

There is a messiah forum on CG talk and there is an internet  user group. ther eis another site or two but they are pretty inactive. The CG talk forum is fairly active.

I think even being put in together with A;M would be good but I don't think that the current moderator would like that. Messiah is for polygons but the users have a similar tastes for original content and animation and rigging. What lead me to messiah is th esmae thign I wanted to rig characters and have animation capabiliies. I was readign a thread about A:M and soemone said for the price you can't get the same thing. then I read a reply of well you download wings for modeling and then buy Messiah and you got it for the same price. I already was a bigtime wings user.

Thanks for all the info. I'll lurk around the CG forums.

As for wings... I just finished the dog house!
