They're doing it so it's okay for me to do it too? I'm not much into that, or into worrying what others are doing.

I prefer to self police, as I found that policing and trying to direct others is an effort in futility. When I complain about others I never know if it made any difference. 

When I use the same effort and energy to get myself to do the right thing, I know that at least one person did it. Plus, once a perason trains themselves to not worry and complain about everyone else's faults, it's actually lot easier and less time consuming.
