I have a few 1G fuji XDs that have been really reliable, the only time I've lost photo's is through my own stupidity (what sort of fool tries to reconfigure his windoze to dual boot Linux without backing up all his work anyway......)

That said, I'd be dubious about using them for long term storage, dvds are cheap and easy.........
