The idea that people are "afraid to use the kids" is pretty funny. The only reason to be afraid is the unspoken assumption that the Poser world is essentially a world of macho fantasy, soft core porn, and erotica. The "home" community of Poser is just that, and eFrontier and DAZ have catered to that market (go where the money is) for years. (No one ever did take my challenge to compare the vertices per square inch of Miki's perineum vs. her ear.) However, people who actually use Poser for things outside the Temple of Nearly Unimaginable Upper Naughty Bits have no reason to be afraid. Oddly enough, most people looking at a human figure do not immediately wonder if it has a fully detailed crotch. I've used the kids in cartoons and illustrations. RDNA runs a very lucrative-seeming market in plushie kids and dolls that have, to my jaded but limited imagination, no use as erotica.
There are props available to support the things little kids do -- playgrounds, bicycles, and so forth. I remember seeing lots of stuff, some of it free, at PlanIt3d, for example. I'm pretty sure there are similar clothing offers there and elsewhere. Not at R'osity, necessarily, where they would interfere with the hawking of g-strings, Las Vegas-style "goddess" and "princess" getups, catsuits, discipline paddles, Axes of Mayhem and light sabres. The kids' wardrobes are limited because there's no money to be made selling clothes for them. However, Wardrobe Wizard will downsize other clothes to fit them. Texturing them shouldn't be all that demanding, since one wouldn't need exotic tattoos, pubic hair, 42nd Street makeup, or authentic bruises....
