we're not suggesting they be gotten rid of.  we're suggesting they change.  i almost never see any rating beneath 5 stars on _anyone's _ work.  what i generally see is more and less votes for the 5 stars.  and personally, sometimes i just want to give someone a gold star and not say anything.  actually, a lot of time that happens.

and actually, this might be kinder to people who care. don't you have to get 4 ratings or so before it shows up?  with a recommended mark, you could have the show immediately.
