Subject: May Challenge theme - FLOWERS

mamabobbijo ( ) posted Mon, 14 May 2007 at 1:16 PM

WOW! Evie it's so delicate and lovely it really looks like stained glass. Thanks so much. I've never seen the flower you call fairy bells newleaf, Mullaney would be enchanted! We spend long days discovering fairies in the most amazing places! That scene of yours ominousplay is quite interesting, It's quite nice but I can't decide if it's a photo, a creation or a combination. The birds are quite dear.
Thanks to all of you for sharing you work.

What a lovely dreamy style to this Miss Evie, I like it. Abetaltre, there's nothing here but the word poppies.

These are all lovely entries. Makes me feel guilty for what I'm foisting off on you here. I came up with something to incorporate both the theme here of Flowers, and the theme in the writer's forum of Mothers (I'm essentially lazy, I guess.) Seemed innocent enough, right?

hi there, here is my entry, "Cherished souvenirs", having a classical ambience. the entire piece has been handled with a traditional setting, of light and arrangement.

everything including, composition, focus, lighting, colors and textures were taken care of to achieve the required dramatic mood(Classical/neo-classical/threatrical) with a dainty look...my actual concern.

painted in artrage, using tablet. its all self-visualized, from scratch, with no refererence used. i only revealed what i had in my mind.

hope this manages to grab some votes...:).

all the best everyone...good day.

Wow, lots of fantastic entries while I was gone.   This seems to be a very universal topic.

Reminder:  The last day to enter is this Sunday.  If anyone realllllllly needs an extra day, let me know and we will extend it.

What an amazing turnout for our May Flowers Challenge!  Thanks to all who participated.  It's now time to close the entries and let the voting begin!    You get to choose your 3 favorite entries, giving each of them 3, 2 or 1 points.  Remember, you are choosing an entry, not an artist.  If someone has posted more than one entry, you need to indicate which is your choice.

Your vote should look something like this:

Georgia O - "Skulls n flowers" - 3 points
G Stein - "a rose is a rose is a" - 2 points
Claude M - "Lilies, Water" - 1 point

Feel free to nominate Honorable Mentions or make comments.

For some reason I have not been getting e-mails from this thread, so I had no idea that voting had begun. Glad I checked back before it closed. Here are my votes:

3 points for mamabobbijo for “My mom was blind...” I felt it embodied the essence of the “very personal interpretation of flowers” part of this challenge. Very moving.

2 points for TwoPynts for Reflections of a water lily. Lovely image and really cool technique. Loved it.

1 point for abetaltre for Hollyhocks in the yard. Quite a striking image.

A very honorable mention to Lucie for Here's mine. Beautiful work.

Great work, everyone.

Apparently, you are only supposed to get ebots when the first person replies after you post.  After that, you should not get any until you post again.

I have been getting ebots daily.
I am subscribed to this thread.
Each time you check a thread, it is supposed to reset the ebot for the next posted message.
As per Nic, from a CC forum post and personal experience.

No, you shouldn't get any until you visit the forum again, you don't have to post anything, if you come to see the thread, next new post you'll receive an ebot, if you don't visit you won't get any other.
